About South Wilts. Fibromyalgia Society

The South Wilts Fibromyalgia Society (SWFS) was formed in April 2000 and works closely with the Rheumatology Department at Salisbury District Hospital.

  • You may just have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia (FMS) and are wondering where do I go from here? At last all your aches and pains have a name but you're asking 'What is it and what is the cure?'
  • You may have a relative, friend or colleague who suffers from fibromyalgia and are keen to understand more about the condition.
  • You may be a health professional looking for additional help or support for your patients.

The SWFS was set up to address all of the above and we aim to:

  • educate and encourage
  • share and develop coping skills
  • provide a place where sufferers, partners and family members are understood and feel comfortable
  • provide information for sufferers and those interested in fibromyalgia
  • provide a place where fellow sufferers can give and receive strength
  • offer a place where you can laugh at the ridiculous side of fibromyalgia without being considered 'odd' or 'unfeeling'

What we offer members:-

  • Monthly meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month between 7 - 9 pm at St Michael's Community Centre, St. Michael's Road, Bemerton Heath, Salisbury.
