About South Wilts. Fibromyalgia Society
The South Wilts Fibromyalgia Society (SWFS) was formed in April 2000 and works closely with the Rheumatology Department at Salisbury District Hospital.
- You may just have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia (FMS) and are wondering where do I go from here? At last all your aches and pains have a name but you're asking 'What is it and what is the cure?'
- You may have a relative, friend or colleague who suffers from fibromyalgia and are keen to understand more about the condition.
- You may be a health professional looking for additional help or support for your patients.
The SWFS was set up to address all of the above and we aim to:
- educate and encourage
- share and develop coping skills
- provide a place where sufferers, partners and family members are understood and feel comfortable
- provide information for sufferers and those interested in fibromyalgia
- provide a place where fellow sufferers can give and receive strength
- offer a place where you can laugh at the ridiculous side of fibromyalgia without being considered 'odd' or 'unfeeling'
